Basketball Bundesliga: Hamburg Towers are subject to Ulm

After the bankruptcy in the EuroCup, Hamburg Towers suffered a setback in the league: In Ulm, coach Pedro Calles’ team lost 74:78.

“We have too many ups and downs,” Calles said before the game started. And again the people of Hamburg presented themselves like a bag of surprises in meat: a furious start in the first quarter, in which the people of Ulm could not oppose the guests; Then the break-in, only eight (!) points in the second quarter – too few to survive in Ulm, even without fans: they were not allowed due to the corona rules there.

In the second section, too, the towers were poorly cast, failed to hit many open attempts and instead made mistakes. Ulm played with a broad chest, especially Thomas Klepeisz (19 points) made the difference. “At first we weren’t prepared against Hamburg’s defense,” he said after the game. “When we dealt with it, it looked better.”
