Baseball is out of the initial program for the Los Angeles 2028 Games

Bad news for baseball fans: The International Olympic Committee has no plans to include the sport of bat and ball in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

This was reported on Thursday by the Director of Corporate Communications and Public Relations of the International Olympic Committee, Christian Klaue when presenting the list of the 28 sports of the initial program, which includes several new sports.

The sports confirmed for Los Angeles 2028 are track and field, rowing, badminton, basketball, boating, cycling, equestrian, and soccer.

Also golf, gymnastics, handball, field hockey, judo, wrestling, swimming, rugby.

Also taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, sports shooting, archery, triathlon, sailing, volleyball, surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing.

Baseball was part of the Olympic tournament in Tokyo 2020, where the Dominican Republic won the bronze medal. The sport had been left out of the London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Games.

He will not be on the grid at the Paris Games in 2024.

The International Baseball and Softball Confederation has said it will make a request to return to the regular rotation of the Games.

However, since the venue is an American country, it is very likely that the inclusion of one of the favorite sports of North Americans will be requested, which could be announced later.
