Shaquille O’Neal’s fingers are itching a lot. On Friday, the eleven master rings of NBA legend Bill Russell will go under the hammer at an auction, and “Shaq” wants to strike. “If I can have all of his eleven rings, no one will beat me,” said O’Neal, four-time North American professional basketball champion, on Inside the NBA.

Bill Russell is also offering his Olympic gold

The 87-year-old Russell announced in June that he wanted to part with the rings and other trophies. Four MVP trophies and the gold medal from the 1956 Olympic Games are also for sale. Russell won all of his NBA titles in the ’50s and’ 60s wearing the Boston Celtics.

If O’Neal is successful, he can call 15 master rings his own. “I would like to take a few things out of their hands,” said the 49-year-old with a view to the auction. (SID / hau)
