Argentine tennis may achieve a Challenger record

The 2021 season has been fantastic in many respects for Argentine tennis, and in particular, due to the success of its players on the ATP Challenger circuit, which can lead to an all-time record. In these final weeks of competition, that mark could be achieved.

This year had great results for the Albiceleste players on the circuit ATP Challenger, with many players fighting hand-to-hand for titles, week after week. This remarkable internal competition has led Argentina to add 20 titles within that level throughout the season. That mark equals what the same country achieved in 2007 and 2016, together with France but in 2005. In the event that an Albiceleste manages to win another title in the last two weeks of action, that record would reach the historic number of 21 conquests.

In addition to the 20 trophies raised in singles, there are eight conquests in doubles. Following the South Americans in number of individual conquests, it appears United States with 19, Spain with 11, and both France and Germany with 10.

The 20 Argentine titles in ATP Challenger

Sebastian Baez It has been the one that contributed the most to the sum, with the brilliant mark of 6 titles. The Argentine managed to win trophies in Concepción, Santiago (twice), Buenos Aires, Zagreb and Campinas, also ensuring his first historic entry into the Top 100 of the ranking.
