A magical 2021 for the gold under-15s

2021 has been the best historical year for Badminton Huesca, especially with regard to the basic categories. Has got two individual Spanish champion titlesHe with his players Alejandro Gállego and Raúl Bergua. And also national titles in doubles with the pairs Raúl Bergua-Gonzalo Isábal and the one formed by Hugo Gállego from Huesca and Guillermo Royo from Andalusia.

In addition, Bergua and Gonzalo Isábal have been summoned to contest the European under-15 category soon, after participating in several national concentrations.

Have also been champions of Spain Belén Foj and Eduardo Marco from Binefa in category senior B1.

The peak of the year occurred in the Spanish U-15 Championship which was played in December in the Pontevedra town of Ponteareas. Alejandro Gállego and Raúl Bergua reached the final and the former took his second Spanish champion title, after last year’s U-13. Gállego beat Bergua by 21-16, 16-21 and 21-8.

Bergua was also runner-up in doubles playing with Gonzalo Isábal. They lost the final to Ismael Oballe and Yaidel Gil, who had eliminated Alejandro Gállego and Alejandro Yagües in a very level semifinal.

Raúl Bergua had been champion of Spain of those born in 2008 in the competition held in Benalmádena. He won in the final against the Balearic Yaidel Gil 18-21, 21-15, 21-14. And, in addition, he got a double, by winning the men’s doubles with Gonzalo Isábal. They beat Carlos Dueñas from Burgos and Pablo Pedrajas from Madrid 21-8, 21-9 in the final.

Hugo Gállego won the title of doubles champion of Spain in the sub-11 category playing with the Andalusian Guillermo Muñoz. They did it in the competition held in Oviedo.

And in the championship for born in 2010 Hugo Gállego with Jorge Royo from Huesca got a bronze.

Solvent permanence in First National

In the absolute team competition, Badminton Huesca La Magia achieved stay with solvency in the First National, second category. He did so by winning five of his fifteen games, in a competition contested by concentrations. Gonzalo Juste, José Manuel Plaza, Sergio Saturque, Hugo Escuer, Marina Solano, Judit Botaya and Aurora Otín were part of the team.

What’s more, several Badminton Huesca teams played in the Catalan league. Guatizalema Huesca was runner-up, after falling in the final with Bellaterra.

Among the multiple activities of the Huesca clubs, with a great representation in national championships, the title of Senior Mixed Doubles Champions by Eduardo Marco and Belén Foj from Binefa.

Furthermore, Foj also proclaimed himself champion in the women’s doubles modality with Vanesa Serrano from Madrid. And Eduardo Marco got a bronze in men’s singles (B1). Foj and Marco ended the year competing in the Huelva World Cup in the senior category, with good results, as they reached the round of 16 in their individual frames in the category over 40 years old.

Definitely, a very fruitful year, with many more Alto Aragonese successes in a tournament on the national calendar.
