A fan of the Tour de France has been fined for causing a massive fall

A fan who caused a massive fall of cyclists in this year’s Tour de France has been fined, French media reported.

A 31-year-old Frenchman was fined € 1,200 at a trial in Brest for causing a massive fall and injuring dozens of athletes.

A woman whose name is not made public also has to pay a symbolic one euro to the French Association of Professional Cyclists (UNCP).

The prosecutor’s office demanded a four-month suspended prison sentence for the perpetrator, accusing him of endangering his life and causing accidental bodily harm.

The culprit was told she was “ashamed of her stupidity”.

As you know, in the first stage of this year’s Tour de France, a fan 45 kilometers before the finish with a poster in his hands tried to draw the attention of television cameras and did not notice the approach of the German Tony Martin, after which 60 cyclists are already on the asphalt. The fall of the Jumbo-Visma representative suspended the race for five minutes.

The lady hid from the police for four days until she reported to the law enforcement.
