59 padel tournaments in one year!

Franck Merelle did it! You thought it was impossible and yet. In 2021, the 709th French player licensed in Occitanie at Tennis Padel Cap d’Agde, managed to make more than one padel tournament per week!

According to official figures from the FFT, over the last 12 months, Franck Merelle has thus achieved a total of 59 padel tournaments, or more than one tournament per week.

The record holder of the French top 500 tournaments, Mathieu Gorrias, with his 51 tournaments, is already exceeded!

Franck Merelle, former tennis player (classified 4/6) has been passionate about padel for almost 3 years. He tells us more:

I have indeed been an absolute padel enthusiast for three years now. I have had this virus from Cap d’Agde, with my parents, and I have not left it since.

After a lot of physical problems in tennis, I was able to find superb sensations in the padel. I love everything about this sport, the playful dimension of course, but above all the great spirit that reigns there every day.

Very busy professionally, I run the town planning and development agency for the Flanders Dunkirk Region. I don’t have too much time to train during the week, so I train in tournaments on the weekends.

I usually play with a great tennis player, Didier Rasp, and all the friends who ask me with a watchword: pleasure and conviviality!

I am licensed in Cap d’Agde but I mainly play in Dunkirk.
