Of the five matches played Indonesian National team from AFF Cup 2020 (2021) there are five players who have not been played by Shin Tae Yong.
The five players are Muhammad Riyandi, Marcho Sandy Meraudje, Ahmad Agung, I Kadek Agung, and Egy Maulana Vikri. Of the five, Egy became the player who joined late.
Egy just arrived in Singapore from Slovakia on Tuesday (21/12) night. Egy joined Evan Dimas and his friends since Wednesday (22/12) morning, but Shin did not play against Singapore in the semifinal first leg.
Shin just plans to field the FK Senica player in the second leg match on Saturday (25/12). However, there is no guarantee that this winger will be the first choice.
As for goalkeeper Riyandi, it is not known why he has not been trusted to appear in the 2020 AFF Cup. This is quite surprising because the Barito Putera goalkeeper has always been the main goalkeeper in test matches ahead of the AFF Cup.
Assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, Nova Arianto, said that Riyandi was not injured. The question of why the 21-year-old hasn’t appeared in the AFF Cup is purely because of Shin Tae Yong’s decision.
Meanwhile, Marckho Sandy had difficulty getting a chance to play because Asnawi Mangkualam Bahar appeared stable at the right-back position of the Indonesian national team. When this Ansan Greeners player was withdrawn, Shin changed the composition of the defense into three parallel defenders.
Therefore, the chance for the Borneo FC player to appear is quite small. Instead, Shin preferred to feature Rizky Dwi Febrianto, an Arema FC player who came after the 2021/2022 League 1 was closed.
Ahmad Agung and Kadek Agung have also not appeared in the 2020 AFF Cup because the midfield competition is very tight. Ricky Kambuaya is irreplaceable, while Evan, Rachmat Irianto, and Ramai Rumakiek, appear alternately.
This makes Ahmad and Kadek’s chances thin. Syahrian Abhimanyu felt the same way. The difference is that Abi has appeared once against Cambodia, but then did not play again in the next four matches.
But now Shin said the Indonesian national team players were tired in the AFF Cup. The 1-1 draw against Singapore on Wednesday (22/12) night shows this. Players did not perform optimally in the second half.
