Ahmedabad: Two children and a woman were killed and nearly 10 more injured when their vehicle collided with a stopped truck on the Bagudra Vataman highway on Wednesday morning, police said.
An official from the Bagodara Police Station said the MUV was traveling from Vapi in southern Gujarat to Rajkot in Saurashtra when it collided with the truck parked on the side of the road from behind near the town of Bagodara in the Ahmedabad district.
He said that two students and a woman who were returning home after participating in the U19 state judo competition in Fabi were killed in the accident.
Upon being informed, CM Bhupendra Patel instructed the Ahmedabad, SP district collector and health officials to arrive at the scene and make arrangements to treat the injured. Patel expressed his condolences to the affected families and announced that the relatives of each of the dead received aid of 4,000 rupees.
The official added that 10 other MUV infected passengers, studying in different schools in Rajkot, were transferred to Ahmedabad civil hospital for treatment.
