The Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi has banned sports coaches in North Sumatra with mustaches. This is the second time Edy has banned people with mustaches.
Edy for the first time banned people with mustaches when he met principals of SMA and SMK levels in North Sumatra on Thursday (29/4/2021). Edy also asked the principal not to have a big stomach.
“I hope that the principal does not have a mustache, because it is not true that it is a mustache,” said Edy.
“Enlarge the biceps, instead of the abdomen being enlarged, let it be gallant,” he continued.
Edy also asked the principal to tidy up the clothes. He asked the principal who wears a cap also to be presentable.
In addition to clothes, he asked the principal to pay attention to the cleanliness of each school’s environment. He promised to come to schools to check cleanliness.
“When I come to school later, I’ll see if the bathroom is clean or not. If I’m not ready,” he explained.
Edy said there will be changes in the process of inaugurating high school and vocational school principals in the future. Edy said that he himself would appoint the principal.
“I have conveyed to the head of the service, the principal (SMA/SMK) who inducts is the governor,” explained Edy.
Principals, said Edy, will also be selected more strictly. He said he would work closely with the University of North Sumatra campus to select school principals.
“So I hope this school principal will be assessed first,” he explained.
Edy’s statement forbidding the mustache principal was criticized because it was considered that the mustache had nothing to do with achievement.
Ban Sports Coaches with Mustaches
Edy again forbade people with mustaches. This time, he banned sports coaches with mustaches because they were considered old at heart.
“No, there is no coach with a mustache,” said Edy during the inauguration of the North Sumatran Indonesian Community Recreational Sports Committee (KORMI) at the Gubsu official residence, Medan, Wednesday (29/12/2021).
