119-kilo Cverna drove Pirate around the ring, the boxing duel ended in a draw

One of the most interesting matches of yesterday’s boxing gala evening Fight Night Challenge was undoubtedly the duel between Samuel “Pirate” Krištofič and Alexandr Cverná, who Carlos Vémola called the duel of David and Goliath in the role of usher. The “Cverminator” weighed 119 kilograms the day before the match, while the Slovak fighter “only” 97.5 kg.

The chosen tactics corresponded to this, the Pirate knew that one purely hit bomb from an opponent could be KOnečná. So he tried to move his legs a lot and after the attacks he immediately tied the fight to a clove, which the referee left for quite a long time. As soon as Cverna launched an attack, Christopher quickly backed away or instinctively dived for takedowny. But he probably scored more in the first round.

The second round was carried in a similar spirit. However, the physically demanding clinchers signed the Pirate’s physique and in the third round he seemed to be breaking bread. Cverna intervened and at the very end, Krištofič fled, for which he earned the roar of the audience. But hard moments were yet to come, because he was still running in the last round, and when Cvern got involved in the end, he had to do something to survive in the final gong. In the end, however, he won the draw.

The pirate, who normally wrestles up to 84 kg, admitted after the match that there was a difference in weight. But he was not at all satisfied with his performance.

“I didn’t do at all what I was supposed to do, what I wanted, what I trained. Instead of holding my hands up, I put my head down. Normally I’m not feeling well. I train like a dick, then I don’t know properly. I’m a little disappointed, angry with myself, not because there was no victory, but because of the performance … I don’t even know if I want to see it, because this way, when I think about it, this hurt more than it helped. What I thought would be the exact opposite. But we move on, there is no injury. But I don’t know what to do with me anymore. The more I train, the more I feel weak. “

Alex Cverna was especially pleased to be able to finally show himself to the fans after a series of canceled matches. And at the age of 46, he showed a respectable performance with a much younger opponent.
