Yeimar Gómez Andrade and Diego Valoyes are two of the names that attract attention in the convocation of the Colombia selection to face Brazil and Paraguay. Who are they?
Looking for variants in defense and attack, Reinaldo Rueda surprised with both of them. They are footballers who had not had the opportunity to reach the Tricolor and who have the present of their careers playing in the MLS and Argentine soccer respectively. Both have been taken into account for the games against Brazil (November 11 in Brazilian territory) and Paraguay (November 16 in Barranquilla).
Yéimar Gómez Andrade
He is a 20-year-old defender born in Tadó (Chocó) and present in the Seattle Sounders of the MLS in which he has been for a couple of seasons. He did not have the opportunity to play professionally in Colombia. His debut was in Argentina playing for Tiro Federal. In that country he also played for Rosario Central, Arsenal de Sarandí, Independiente Rivadavia and Unión de Santa Fe.
He is a footballer with just over 200 professional matches and 11 goals scored. In the current season he has 32 appearances in the MLS (28 as a starter) and a goal scored (to LA Galaxy).
Diego Valoyes
He is a 25-year-old striker from Cartagena who played for La Equidad in Colombia between 2015 and 2018 (6 goals). For 2019 he started to play at Talleres de Córdoba. He is consolidated as a starter in said team. With them his scoring quota grew. In 2021 he adds 6 annotations in the league and made one in the Copa Sudamericana. In total he has 19 goals as a professional.
