Víctor Martínez in his first Pan American Championship – El Sol de Hidalgo

The judoka from Hidalgo Víctor Gabriel Martínez Gómez debuts today in his first international experience, will represent Mexico in the Pan American Championship and Caribbean Cup of Judo for Children held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Verónica González Pasten, president and coach of the Hidalgo Judo Association, reported that the athlete will compete in the 53-kilogram division, “he is 13 years old and is in the Under 15 category.

“From our expectations with Víctor, he is a strong boy, he is good, but for a Pan American, it is his first tournament, we hope he will do well in what will be his first international experience.”

Athletes from Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Curaçao, Ecuador, Haiti, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica and the host Dominican Republic, to name a few, will participate in the competition.

On the other hand, González Pasten reported that, in state activity, the last details are being refined to carry out the Paste Tournament, which will be Interclubs.

“This tournament will be on December 3 and 4 in Real de Monte, teams from Querétaro, some schools from CDMX and those from here will attend, at this time we still do not have an approximate number of participants, but we trust that there will be a very good response by part of judo teams ”.
