The President’s Cup 2021 held in Wroclaw (Poland) is still in the eyes of professionals and fans, yet international shooting is looking forward to starting again towards a 2022 that will be rich and full of events.
The question everyone is asking is: what will be the first planetary races next year?
According to the calendar unveiled by the International Shooting Sport Federation, the 2022 prologue should be held with two Grand Prix at 10m, in Europe: the first in Ruse, Slovenia from 12 to 16 January, the second in Osijek, Croatia from 18 to 22 January.
Two “classic” venues, therefore, of planetary shooting, with even the Croatian shooting range which hosted the 2021 European Championships, the last continental event before the Tokyo Games.
Two “opportunities” for Italy to be easily present and immediately try to “change pace” compared to a 2021 which was very positive in the first part and then not very prolific in terms of results from July onwards.
Also because, it must be emphasized once more: compressed air competitions are becoming increasingly important, also considering the Mixed Teams of both rifles and pistols which have now fully entered the Olympic program.
A little less then two months at the start of ahe season that will then culminate in the October Pistol and Rifle World Championships: to be held in Cairo from 12 to 25 October.
