The sports exhibition of the disciplines of associated wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo and judo, was successfully carried out in the State Congress where the president of the Governing and Administration Board of the LXIV Legislature, Alejandro Gómez Cazarín; the general director of the Sports Institute of Campeche (INDECAM) Francisco Menéndez Botanez, as well as outstanding sports talents and invited authorities.

Menéndez Botanez thanked the representatives of Congress, who for the first time will carry out this rapprochement between the Legislative Power and the folksy athletes, because in this way they can know the needs and feelings of these people who daily strive, to stand out among the best exponents of sport nationally and internationally.

“Likewise, I want to thank the Commission for Physical Culture and Sports of the Honorable State Congress, for the willingness they have had to listen to the voice of the athletes, and I am sure that with the support of the State Government and the deputies of this legislature, these athletes and the new generations will have better conditions for a better preparation and a dignified way of life, “said Botanez.

In the same way, the outstanding weightlifter Josué Aguilar Chan, had an intervention on behalf of high performance athletes, where he exposed some needs of athletes, among them, a decent bus for national competitions and preparation camps; a high-performance program that improves food and stay conditions at the CEDAR Sports Village, as well as sports scholarships that motivate talents to remain among the elite of their sports.

“I am excited and happy because for the first time in the more than 15 years that I have been an athlete, a rapprochement is made between deputies and athletes, because that is where the resource comes to support the sport; that is why we are also committed to continue training and working hard to leave the name of Campeche at the top ”, he concluded.

Finally, the leader of the Congress deputies thanked the support of his fellow deputies, making it clear that the promotion of athletes will continue and, like the other legislators, pledged to donate 25% of the monthly salary of December for the support of high performance athletes from Campeche.
