The Sixers won only with their small salaries!

The Philadelphia Sixers have just won two of their last three games, including the last one last night against the adrift Kings. It was not really a given in advance as the group of Doc Rivers was decimated. Joel Embiid still has not returned from the Covid, Ben Simmons continues to be away from the team, Tobias Harris was hit in the hip, Danny Green with ischios and Seth Curry in the back.

Despite that, thanks in part to Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers won. Philadelphia has one of the biggest salary grids in the entire NBA, yet it is with low salaries that Doc Rivers has done the job. On the scoresheet, the highest paid player of the entire squad was like this … Furkan Korkmaz, which is due to receive 4.6 million dollars this season!

Instead, judge the names and annual salaries of the players who appeared in the game against Sacramento:

George Niang (3.3 millions), Matisse Thybulle (2.8), Tyrese Maxey (2.6), Andre Drummond (2.4), Shake Milton (1.8), Isaiah Joe (1.5), Paul Reed (1.5) and Charles Bassey (900K).

Casually, this is proof that the Sixers have a rather deep workforce, regardless of the slaughter they suffered at the level of their executives. They obviously won’t fulfill their goals without Joel Embiid and the rest of the cast, but it’s still a positive sign in this complicated period that they are slowly getting out of.

Ben Simmons: The Sixers are asking for the impossible… on purpose to screw things up?
