The Mets are not alone in the race for Javier Baez

Several teams are interested in the services of versatile shortstop Javier Baez, including the New York Mets. However, they wouldn’t have stood alone in the race to get the Puerto Rican athlete, reports SNY’s Andy Martino.

The signing could even take place before the start of the anticipated labor dispute in major league baseball, at the beginning of December.

For now, speculation is rife surrounding Baez. Like Corey Seager, “El Mago” could choose his destination within a few days, to make sure he probably doesn’t lose too much money.

Since the arrival of Javier Baez in Queens, the owner of the New York training Steve Cohen has certainly gotten to know his acquisition better. On the other hand, the athlete has certainly grown to love Cohen’s vision. But is that enough to settle in New York?

Baez is also very close to Francisco Lindor. Discussions for a change of position have also been initiated, as the two could be brought together.

One thing is certain, the arrival of Billy Eppler could give the Mets an advantage in this case. They are no longer alone in the race, but want to win to keep Baez in their ranks.
