The infinitely rich Newcastle terrifies the descent. Replace the whole team, fans ask

Newcastle football is looking for a bright future paved with money from the Middle East. But by far the richest team in the Premier League must first overcome the problems on the pitch in order to save itself at all.

Newcastle fans celebrated the entry of a de facto Saudi state-owned investor with a view of the club’s rapid rise along the lines of Manchester City. Especially when the investment broker and new club co-owner Amanda Staveley confidently stated that the Toons “will have exactly the same ambitions in terms of trophies as the Citizens or Paris Saint-Germain.”

A month after the club was taken over by the new owners, however, ambitions and reality diverge sharply. Newcastle is now closer to the second English league than the Champions League with only five points in the table from eleven matches. The North English team has the penultimate place with a score ahead of Norwich, currently with a shortage of five points to save.

In the last month, black and white have scored just two points in draws with Crystal Palace and Brighton. It should be noted that the team faced Tottenham (2: 3) and Chelsea (0: 3), now definitely better teams on paper. However, the situation in the city on the river Tyne is not good.

The team is waiting for nine more matches in the Premier League until the New Year, when theoretically it will be able to record the first reinforcement on the roster. In addition, England has virtually no winter break – it will only miss the weekend in January, so the new team will have almost no time to play. In just the first two months of the new year, he will play another seven rounds in the English top competition.

While fans speculate whether the team will be strengthened by Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland, the club is dealing with a critical situation in the table.

Newcastle doesn’t address

In one position, the club could strengthen immediately and he did. He fired coach Steve Bruce and was replaced by Eddie Howe.

According to the British media, the club had previously sought to acquire award-winning Dutch coach Erik Ten Haga, but he remained loyal to Ajax. “Newcastle’s situation has been complicated by speculation about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position in Manchester United. It’s a bit of a question for Ten Hague to take the Championship or the Champions League,” The Mirror reports. Ajax is also doing well in the Dutch league and the Champions League, so Ten Hag may also want to finish the season in Amsterdam.

A similar dilemma will be solved by the players that Newcastle will strive for in the transfer window. Although the owners are fabulously rich, it is hard to imagine that Kylian Mbappé or another mega-star will leave his current club and go to Newcastle, which is playing for rescue this year, and where it is a question of when it will even make it to the European Cups.

“It will be a longer run,” Staveley admits. After years of fans suffering because of the club’s ownership, Mike Ashley, who made no secret of his lack of sporting ambitions, remains optimistic.

After Staveley’s performance towards the fans, a generally positive mood prevailed. “That’s all we want. We don’t need hundreds of millions of purchases, titles, Champions League. We only need a glimmer of hope,” one of them wrote.

But they don’t like the situation on the field either. “The level of the team is terrible. We have to change the whole defense, also the center of the backup, the right wing, the striker,” the fans commented on Twitter.
