The developers of Baltic Sports Village cooperate with the leading designers of sports facilities in Europe

SIA Baltic Sport Group in Pinki is developing and creating the largest and most modern private football sports base in the Baltics, in the establishment of which it is planned to invest 50 million euros. The base called Baltic Sport Village will be not only a place for training and games for both young and experienced Latvian athletes, but also an opportunity for competitions and training camps for foreign club participants.

In the design and construction of infrastructure, Baltic Sport Group has attracted KSS, a leading European sports facilities design and engineering company, which plans to complete the stadium with a total capacity of 61,000 spectators by 2024, making it the fourth largest stadium in the Premier League. KSS has recently completed a new Leicester training infrastructure project with a 72-hectare master plan and seven buildings, 14 full-size training grounds, a show area with a covered grandstand and a full-size covered area.

The KSS project in Pinki is the first site in Eastern Europe, but the company has completed several international projects, including Le Havre, France, a stadium in Haifa, Israel, as well as projects in Slovenia, Belgium and Portugal. “We are also delighted to have been involved in the design of Ahmed Bin Ali’s stadium in Al Raiien, Qatar, which will be at the forefront of the 2022 FIFA World Cup next year,” says KSS.

In developing the conceptual design for the Baltic Sport Village project, KSS drew inspiration, including from the Krasnodar Stadium Park in Russia.

According to KSS, Latvia could become the leading Baltic state in providing elite football training centers and stadiums. “These objects provide Latvia with the infrastructure to further develop both domestic and foreign talent. The development of projects such as Baltic Sport Village is the main starting point to help Latvia achieve this goal, ”says KSS.

In addition, KSS is convinced that Latvia has the potential to compete with the English Premier League teams. “Latvian clubs such as Riga FC continue to compete in the UEFA Champions and European League qualifiers every year. In this case, there is a chance that in the near future we will see the Latvian club against the English Premier League club. ”
