The Costa Brava Rally is back stronger than ever

This morning the 69th edition of the Costa Brava Rally was presented, which will be held next week, from 18 to 21. More than a year and a half later, the engines will roar again on the roads of the Girona region with one of the classic car tests of the calendar. Displaced in November by the pandemic, the change of dates has not affected the registrations, which this year are 185, one more than in the last edition. In addition, the organization has extended the dates of the rally, which will begin on Thursday with checks to start the sections on Friday morning. The event will put an end to the FIA ​​European Historical Rally Championship, the Spanish Championship and the Catalan Regularity Championship. Another of the novelties will be a section at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Saturday. In addition, Fornells de la Selva will have the assistance park that used to be in Domeny. Santa Coloma de Farners and Palamós will host regroupings.

The rally will have a total of 13 timed sections, seven different with 175 timed km in total. The sections will be: Els Àngels, Santa Pellaia and La Ganga on Friday; Osoro, Collsaplana, Cladells and Circuit de Barcelona, ​​Saturday. Outstanding riders who will take part are Maurizio Verini, Dani Solà, Jacques Almeras, Daniel Alonso, Xesús Ferreiro and Jean François Berenguer, among others.
