The ten group winners decide in five double duels which five countries will represent Africa in Qatar.
At Ajax, Erik ten Hag prefers Remko Pasveer when Onana returned from his doping suspension, but in the national team the keeper made minutes again. The goalie played the entire match against Malawi.
Onana (25) tested positive for furosemide during a doping control a year ago and therefore played his last match for Ajax on January 31 (AZ-away, 0-3). He was then given a one-year suspension. This was reduced to nine months on appeal.
