Shin Tae-yong Gathers Tall Players in the U-18 National Team, Some Are As Tall As Elkan Baggott – All Pages

BOLNAS.COM – Shin Tae-yong was recorded as calling nine players over 180 cm tall in the Indonesia U-18 national team squad to be brought to Turkey.

The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, once again emphasized his preference for calling tall players for the Garuda Muda squad.

Shin Tae-yong is currently working double-duty to lead the Indonesian senior and U-18 national team training camps in Turkey until early December.

The Indonesian U-18 national team with 36 players has left for Turkey since last Monday (16/11/2021).

Previously, PSSI had held four stages of player selection for the selection of Indonesian U-18 national team players.

On that occasion, Shin Tae-yong made posture the main requirement for his team.

“First, the posture must be good,” said Shin on the PSSI Youtube channel (1/9/2021).

“Because of this we are preparing the squad for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, our rivals are not ASEAN countries, but the world.”

“We have to be able to compete with world quality teams, so we have to look for a good posture,” he said.

The selection process was over and Shin Tae-yong kept his promise by prioritizing tall players.

In the squad that was brought to Turkey, it was recorded that nine players had a height of more than 180 cm.

Three tall players occupy the position of goalkeeper, namely Erlangga Setyo (194 cm), Bagas Pratama (188 cm), and Dimas Maulana (181 cm).

Erlangga Setyo is the tallest player in the team, with the same height as Elkan Baggott (194 cm).

Three other players play as defenders, namely Kakang Rudianto (185 cm), Genta Pramudya (185 cm), and Uchida Sudirman (182 cm).

Meanwhile, the tallest player in the midfield position is Jovanni Renaldi (178 cm).

The remaining three tall players play as strikers, namely Rabbani Tasnim (185 cm), Arsa Ahmad (180 cm), and Fillah Rohmatullah (180 cm).

The U-18 Indonesian national team will play three test matches in Turkey, namely against Antalyaspor (twice) and an undetermined opponent.

On Monday (11/16/2021), the group of young players was seen supporting the senior national team who had trials with Afghanistan.
