Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III will face death-impaired driving charges after being apprehended in a crash Tuesday morning in Las Vegas.

According to local police and as reported by NFL.com, officers attended the scene of a collision involving a Chevrolet Corvette and a Toyota Rav4. In it, firefighters discovered a dead person. Rugg, the driver of the other vehicle, had remained in place and his behavior was typical of that of an individual with reduced faculties. He was hospitalized, but his life is not in danger.

“The Raiders are aware of the crash involving Henry Ruggs III this morning. We are devastated by the death of a person and our thoughts and prayers are directed to the family of the victim. We are trying to get more information and we will not comment further at this time, ”the Raiders said in a statement.

The defendant’s lawyers, David Z. Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, reacted in a similar fashion. If the player concerned is found guilty, he risks imprisonment.

Ruggs III has amassed 452 yards and two touchdowns in 26 receptions this season, including 113 yards and a major over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Game 2.
