Scooter Gennett doesn’t believe Carlos Correa deserves to play in MLB

Almost two years ago, we learned that the Houston Astros had cheated for three years to achieve their goals. And let’s say it went wrong.

Since it was a ploy for the hitters, it was not the pitchers who were affected by this. It was mainly Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa and George Springer who became the faces of the scandal.

The proof? Gerrit Cole signed in New York in a market that resents the Astros, but the scandal has not been talked about. In comparison, the rumors that linked Carlos Correa to the Yankees did not have the same effect.

And there, I’m talking about the effect he has on Yankees fans before his statements on Derek Jeter.

All that to say that it was the Astros hitters who ruined the careers of the opposing pitchers. This is one of the reasons why, by signing for Toronto, Springer explained himself to Ross Stripling, who was with the Dodgers in 2017.

But back to Correa.

Currently, the shortstop player is tipped to sign a massive contract worth nearly $ 300 million. It’s a buzz considering that part of its success is based on scandal.

And that, former Scooter player Gennett noted. He landed on Twitter posting this.

He says the MLB shouldn’t let Correa play in major league baseball, let alone allow him to sign such a big contract. According to him, the Majors are “broken” and he prefers to be at home rather than at an MLB stadium.

He ended by saying this about Correa.

If he had a soul, he would give his next contract money to players whose careers have been destroyed by the scandal.

Obviously, the former Reds player goes a long way in suggesting such a big “fine”. He seems to be a guy who is frustrated with the whole situation and the lack of interest in him related to his contractual situation.

But in fact, he is not fundamentally wrong. There are still a lot of people who are frustrated with what happened in Houston and the Astros’ next shortstop contract won’t change that – quite the opposite.

Several players, former players, fans or leaders may not say it, but must feel the same way.

The league chose not to punish the players and you have to live with that. That said, while general frustration with the Astros has subsided, there are still plenty of unhappy customers – and that’s to be expected.
