Şaziye İvegin Üner, who played 329 official matches with the National Women’s Basketball Team, ended her basketball career.

A National Women’s Basketball Team faced Slovenia and Poland in Group D of FIBA ​​2023 European Championship Qualifiers. The Fairies of the Hoop defeated Slovenia 62-78 away. Then, passing Poland 52-41 at Kocaeli Martyr Police Recep Topaloğlu Sports Hall, the national team started the qualifiers with two in two.

Şaziye İvegin Üner, one of the names that left a mark in Turkish basketball with 329 official matches, ended her professional basketball career before the Poland game, where the national team met with full stands two years later.

Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) Deputy Chairman Ömer Onan presented Şaziye İvegin with the national team a plaque of appreciation and the national team jersey before the Poland match.

Şaziye İvegin Üner, born in 1982, was part of the team that won the silver medal at the 2011 European Championship in Poland and the bronze medal at the 2013 European Championship hosted by France. Şaziye, who appeared in the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympic Games, was also included in the 2014 World Championship squad that we hosted.

A National Women’s Basketball Team will compete against Slovenia and Poland as well as Albania in Group D of the FIBA ​​2023 European Championship Qualifiers. In the qualifiers to be played in three windows, the second window will be played on 24-27 November 2022, and the third window will be played on 9-12 February 2023.
