KOMPAS.com Ralf Rangnick has reportedly agreed to become interim manager of Manchester United. The news was reported by The Athletic, Thursday (25/11/2021) night WIB.

According to The Athletic, Ralf Rangnick has agreed a short-term contract with Man United until the end of the 2021-2022 season or May next year.

After completing his stint as interim coach of Man United, Ralf Rangnick is rumored to be in a “consultant” role for two years at Old Trafford.

It is not known for sure whether the role is related to the position as sporting director as the news circulated.

However, the consultant’s role is reported to have power in club policy. This was also written by European transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

The German is reportedly already interested in becoming Man United’s interim coach and taking up other duties at Old Trafford after that.

Ralf Rangnick is currently working at Lokomotiv Moscow as Head of Sport and Development.

Lokomotiv Moscow have reportedly also agreed to let Rangnick go, although he is still under contract until June 2024.

However, Man United’s agreement with the Russian club has not been fully completed. The two sides are still in further talks.

If a number of details have been completed, Rangnick certainly “OTW” or to Old Trafford and lead Cristiano Ronaldo et al.

However, due to the need to apply for a work permit, Rangnick has not been able to lead Man United against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend.

Ralf Rangnick himself has a brilliant experience in the world of coaching. Top Premier League coaches such as Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea) and Juergen Klopp (Liverpool) even admitted that they were inspired by the philosophy of coaching Rangnick.

Meanwhile, he also had a brief stint as a coach at RB Leipzig.

After Rangnick took on the role, RB Leipzig moved up from the regional league, to the fourth division, to the Bundesliga.

Manchester United itself is currently being handled by Michael Carrick after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.

The Red Devils plan to assign a short-term coach first, before appointing a long-term coach next season.
