The event was hosted by Yonhap News and Goyang City Sports Association, the national key news agency, and sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Goyang City, Korea Health and Family Promotion Agency, and Yonhap News TV.
Unlike last year, when the size of the competition was drastically reduced due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) pandemic, this year, the number of participants increased and various events were prepared.
The match will be divided into two events: general singles (men and women) and couple’s doubles. A demonstration match between the Taekwondo Demonstration Team and Yonex Badminton Team in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province will also be held.
In accordance with the government’s step-by-step recovery of daily routine (with Corona) policy, only players who submitted gene amplification (PCR) test results within 48 hours participated. Vaccines can participate without a separate test.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, participants went through body temperature measurement and used hand sanitizer before entering. Athletes play the game while wearing masks, and quarantine work is carried out before and after the opening and closing.
In case of an emergency during the event, Inje University Ilsan Paik Hospital near the stadium was designated as an emergency hospital, and an emergency treatment room in the event hall is also operated in conjunction with the National Medical Center.
At the opening ceremony, Yonhap News President Sung Ki-hong, Vice Minister Kim Gyeong-seon, Goyang Mayor Lee Jae-joon, Goyang City Sports Association President Na Sang-ho, and former men’s basketball national team member Seung-jun Lee encouraged the team and their families.

Seong Ki-hong, president of Yonhap News, said in the news conference, “In line with the government’s ‘With Corona’ policy, 300 members of multicultural families participated in a forum of passion and harmony. I promise to take you to the chair of the chair.”
