Manchester UnitedMauricio Pochettino likes to flirt with other clubs. A source from his environment confirms to all English media that the PSG coach is indeed interested in the Manchester United project.
After eleven months in Paris, the Argentinian hides the frustrations: he has too little to say to his liking. Pochettino himself explained a line to ex-club Tottenham last summer. There was a short talk, but it soon became clear that PSG did not want to let his trainer go just like that. Pochettino is under contract until 2023.
Pochettino is a fan of legendary ex-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. In 2016 they went for lunch together in the heart of London. His candidacy has been in a drawer with the United bosses ever since. Pochettino was one of the candidates to succeed Mourinho in 2019, but interim coach Solskjaer convinced the board more.
In any case, Pochettino has nothing to lose. Either Man United sinks deep into their pockets and gives the club the responsibilities they want – sole control. Or he strengthens his position within PSG.
Today Pochettino lands in Manchester. At his press conference before the clash with City, he may deny any interest in the job at United.
