“This is something motivating for me, because I know how difficult it is for a child to be close to a major league player. It happened to me when Édgar Renteria was in his prime. You wanted to see it, touch it, or chat with it. It was very difficult for that to happen, but now that I have the possibility of giving this to children, I do it with all the pleasure in the world, “said Luis Fernando Patiño.

He added that the talks consist of how to step on the bases so that they do not suffer ankle injuries, know how to receive a ball with the glove, how to ‘field’ and also throw. “They are minimal things that we are sure they will keep and put into practice.”

Patiño since he is in organized baseball has tried to take his little experience in the few schools where he started as a child. “I’ve already been to the Victory Stadium, where I started with the Dodty Jiménez School; Today we are here and the idea is to go to all those smaller stadiums to share with the children and that they feel motivated to practice baseball ”.

For Jair Camargo, “this is a good experience for me. It is the first time I have attended and the idea is to give the children some tics. Especially in the receiver position, which is where I work. I liked it because I have seen many children who are happy, happy and eager to learn. I hope to repeat this in other smaller parks in Barranquilla ”.

The call was made by Patiño and Camargo, through social networks and the ball park about a hundred children arrived and even a girl was motivated to participate and receive instructions from young Colombian players.
