Okinawa Karate restarts thanks to the agreement found with the Samurai judoka

VENTURINA. Asd Okinawa Karate resumes activities in a new location, thanks to the Samurai Judo association. The sports association led by the teacher Roberto Ninci last year he had had to leave the historic site, the gymnasium of the Marconi schools (which he had managed for three years, until 2022), because it was intended by the Municipality, owner of the structure, as a school canteen to adapt the spaces of the school to the anti Covid.

“But at the same time the Municipality – Ninci specifies – has not provided valid alternatives to the association to continue the courses, sending home over 40 members. We stopped business in October after yet another closure. Then we shot it in open spaces ».

The gyms of the Carducci and Altobelli schools have been used for a while, but a sports association needs a “home” where to take courses and initiatives. In September we had to leave. Fortunately after a meeting between Ninci and the teacher Damiano Ghisolfi of the Asd Samurai Judo, new perspectives and opportunities have opened up for Venturinese karate, avoiding the closure of the association: Okinawa, in fact, will restart on 2 December with karate courses for children, teenagers and adults as a karate sector which is part of the Asd Samurai Judo Venturina.

“It was very difficult to tell its members that we will not have resumed the courses in September, leaving 40 students at home – explains Ninci – but no longer having a seat where they can practice, as president of the association I was forced to take the sad decision to cease with activities. All this after having dedicated years to the service of sport for young people, and not only, and contributing both to their sporting growth and to their training as people, infusing them with the educational concepts of the discipline itself with continuous psychomotor growth. Luck wanted that recently a meeting with the master Ghisolfi ended with a positive agreement to collaborate, so from now on we will be the new karate sector of his association ».

Okinawa courses are aimed at children aged 6 to 11 with development of motor skills and the fundamentals of the discipline, karate-do and self-defense courses for children and adults. Enrolled students will also have the opportunity to participate in training internships with national and international teachers. “Those who are fascinated by this martial art – adds the master Ninci – can come and visit us and take advantage of two trial lessons without any commitment”.

The courses will take place in via Cerrini 136 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For registrations, the secretariat is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5 to 8 pm. For further information, please consult our website www. okinawakarate.it.
