NFL: Tyrod Taylor to return to play on Sunday

Avant-match Texans-Dolphins

Houston Texans head coach David Culley announced Thursday that Tyrod Tyler will be the team’s starting quarterback against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Taylor has been out of the game since sustaining a leg injury in week two of activity against the Cleveland Browns.

In just over one game this season, Taylor completed 31 of his 44 passing attempts for gains of 416 yards with 3 touchdowns. He also had gains of 55 rushing yards with 1 touchdown.

During his absence, the Texans handed the ball over to rookie Davis Mills. A 3rd round pick, Mills tallied 1,357 yards with 7 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.

The Texans (1-7) haven’t won since defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first week of operations of the season. The Dolphins (1-7) have also lost their last 7 meetings.
