Mike Malone: ”I didn’t like what I was seeing”
The crime came at minute 6:04 of the third quarter when, after a referee call that he did not like, Mike Malone went in a not very friendly way towards the referee: he had to intervene Nikola Jokic to stop his coach who, in the end, was sent off.
Al end of the game, Malone wanted to clarify what happened:
“I didn’t like what I was seeing on the court, but I didn’t want to be expelled, I just wanted explanations. I apologized to my assistant David Adelman for leaving him in a difficult situation. Apart from that, I think they deserved it: we did ours, they did better and they kicked our asses ”
Nikola Jokic defends Mike Malone
Nikola Jokic took care of trying to calm the spirits of his coach, intervening so as not to further aggravate Mike Malone’s situation. Despite this, The Joker appreciated the gesture of his coach:
“I appreciate what he did because it means that he cares: he is really emotional and he gets involved in the game, I admire him a lot”
Asked Nikola Jokic if he appreciated Malone standing up for his guys:
