MLB and players meet this week in Texas

Representatives from the MLB Players Association and the baseball industry will meet this week in Texas to try to reach an agreement to renew the labor agreement, The Athletic reported.

The meeting comes as a final attempt to prevent negotiations from being frozen due to the fact that on December 1, at 11:59 p.m., the current collective contract expires.

In recent days, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred admitted that time is running out to sign a new deal.

The players’ union wants changes in relations with the owners and that is why they will defend their interests until the end, said their representative in the negotiations, Bruce Meyer.
