The French top match between Lyon and Marseille was discontinued on Sunday evening in the 1st half. The referee sent the players to the locker room after Marseille player Dimitri Payet had been hit with a bottle of water.
Early in the game, Dimitry Payet was pelted when he had to take a corner. The referee signaled to wait a moment, but on the second attempt, Payet had a full bottle of water thrown at his head. The ref then decided to stop the match.
It is not the first time this season that Payet has been pelted. The 38-time French international was also under fire in the match against Nice. That match was also abandoned and played again at a later time, without supporters.
Incidentally, it is already the 5th time this season that a match of Marseille has been stopped.
