Löw for Flick “the best national coach we’ve ever had”

At the last home international match of the year, Joachim Löw was honored for his 15 years as national coach. Before the ceremony, his successor Hansi Flick praised the 2014 world champion coach in the highest tones.

Hansi Flick wants his predecessor Joachim Löw prepare an atmospheric football evening at the official farewell as national coach. “For me he’s the best national coach we’ve ever had. He simply set up German football differently,” Flick told the dpa news agency on Friday.

Löw will be part of the World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein in Wolfsburg from the German Football Association (DFB) for his 15 years as head coach of the National team honored. The 61-year-old resigned against England (2-0) after losing in the European Championship round of 16 in the summer. Flick, now 56 years old, was his assistant when he won the 2014 World Cup.

“The fact is that we have a lot in common. His call back then was a ‘game changer’ for me. I am infinitely grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to work with him because he was a good head coach, his Employee who led his team with great appreciation. That was one of the best times, “said Flick.
