Vitesse-AZ

Sam Beukema starts for the first time in the base at AZ in the away match against Vitesse. The 23-year-old defender, who came over from Go Ahead Eagles, can start after four raids in the base of trainer Pascal Jansen.

Compared to Thursday’s European game in the Czech Republic against FK Jablonec (1-1), Beukema is the only newcomer in the Alkmaar squad. He replaces the injured Hakon Evjen.

Goalkeeper Markus Schubert and captain Danilho Doekhi return to the team after suspensions. Eli Dasa also has a base place again. The Israeli right-back arrived in France too late for the match discussion and therefore had to start on the bench. Thomas Buitink, who scored as a substitute against Stade Rennes, will also be kicking off at 8 p.m.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Ajax was the first of the top clubs to take action. The team from Amsterdam won sparingly 1-0 at Sparta. Feyenoord got no further than a bloodless 0-0 at FC Twente. And PSV also dropped points. The team of trainer Roger Schmidt had to settle for a draw at sc Heerenveen: 1-1.
