Lewis Hamilton accuses Bottas of giving way to Max Verstappen to win at the 2021 Mexican GP F1 : Okezone Sports

MEXICO CITY – Lewis Hamilton feels strange about his Mercedes-AMG Petronas team-mate, Valtteri Bottas. He accused Bottas of paving the way for his rival, Max Verstappen during the Formula One (F1) Mexican Grand Prix 2021, Monday (8/11/2021).

Actually Mercedes has an advantage. Because, Bottas and Hamilton started the race in positions one and two. While two Red Bull Racing drivers namely Verstappen and Sergio Perez are in third and fourth positions.

However, disaster occurred at the beginning of the race. Right at corner one, Verstappen was able to overtake Hamilton and Bottas. This situation was also accompanied by the incident experienced by Daniel Ricciardo which made the race chaotic.

The reason is, Bottas, who started the race in first position, had to be thrown into 18th position. Hamilton also questioned the performance of Bottas, who should have started the race better.

“It was different from what I imagined. “Valtteri could have started the race better and I could have followed behind him,” Hamilton said, quoted by Racing News 365.

“But of course I ended up next to him, which is actually pretty good. I then tried to protect the sides of the track and tried to close the gap on the inside,” he said.

“I think Valtteri will do the same. However, it was clear he had opened the door for Max to hold the race track. He braked well in the first corner. I had no hope,” Hamilton said.

“It makes racing even more difficult. With one car in front, they can play the strategy. Sergio is also very close and I can’t stay away from him.”

In the race which was held at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit, Mexico, Hamilton had to settle for finishing second. He was quite far behind the winner, Max Verstappen.
