Islam Makhachev grateful to have Khabib Nurmagomedov as a coach. Makhachev considers Khabib a cheat code when he defeats Dan Hooker UFC 267.
Makhachev only needed one round to win by submission over Hooker in the lightweight duel at UFC 267 which took place at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi, Sunday (31/10) early morning WIB.
The referee stopped the fight with 2 minutes and 25 seconds of the first round when Makhachev’s kimura submission left Hooker in pain.
After a viral video fight in which Khabib ordered Makhachev to change leg position before the 30 -year -old fighter won over Hooker. Makhachev is grateful Khabib gave him instructions.
“I did kimura [kuncian tangan] and him [Hooker] begins to move backwards until it successfully defends itself. Khabib then told me to put my foot over his head,” Makhachev said RT.
In a video that went viral on social media, Khabib was caught on camera ordering Makhachev not to rush while fighting Hooker.
“Islam, don’t rush my brother. Put your feet between his heads. Yes, that’s right,” shouted Khabib on the edge of the octagon.
Makhachev then uploaded the status through his Instagram account. The fighter from Dagestan, Russia, considered Khabib as a cheat code to be able to win at the UFC.

“When Khabib is in the corner, it’s like a little cheating,” Makhachev wrote via Instagram by uploading a photo of Khabib holding a video games stick.
Successfully defeating Hooker was Makhachev’s ninth consecutive win at the UFC. Makhachev also demanded UFC President Dana White to give him the number 1 fighter or the fight for the world title.
