Kelly Olynyk will be out for six weeks

The Pistons won’t be able to count on Kelly Olynyk for a long period of time. The power forward suffered a knee sprain in the game between Detroit and the Rockets on Wednesday night, forcing him to abandon the game in the fourth quarter and keep him away from the courts for at least six weeks.

The franchise pointed out that the MRI performed on the joint confirmed a grade 2 sprain, which will cause the Canadian to be reevaluated after said six weeks to assess his evolution and fix his return to the market.

Olynyk was averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, data that make him one of the men who contribute the most to the team in both facets. However, it does not appear that the Pistons, little concerned about his record of victories this season, are going to regret his absence excessively, and they will want him to make a full and unhurried recovery before they can count on him again.
