An AMAZING result was obtained by the youth sector of the ASD Army – 187th parachute regiment “Folgore” of Livorno, at the “ITALIAN BEGINNERS CHAMPIONSHIP”, of Karate, in the specialty of Kumite “controlled contact combat”, last Saturday, organized by FIJLKAM – Italian Federation of Judo Fight Karate Martial Arts, at the PalaPellicone in Lido di Ostia – Rome.
Important numbers were recorded by the organization with 171 teams present and 406 competitors who battled on the 4 squares of the competition, to compete for the coveted Italian title.
In this “green, white and red” frame, the dazzling Jacopo CITI wins the competition, graduating – Italian Champion – in the weight category – 38 Kg male, out of 38 competing athletes. The uncontested march towards the podium saw the technical skills expressed impeccably by the young Jacopo shine, who with skill and careful tactics, passed the 5 matches, overcome by 9 to 0, 6 to 0, 3 to 0, 3 to 0 and the final was dominated by 3 a1.
In women, the athlete Laura GIRALDI climbed to the second step of the podium, who won the silver medal by playing five games in advantage for 2 to 1, 4 to 0, 3 to 0, 1 to 0, 2 to 0, and in the final, he gave way to the antei (referee judgment) for 4 to 1, concluding the sixth match.
In addition, he followed the excellent test for the lightning bolt Edoardo LIGAS who reaches a good 7th place in the standings in the – 43 Kg. unfortunately they were stopped in the middle of the race course.
The competitive advance made it possible to classify the club, ASD Army – 187th Folgore, in 6th place in the men’s general classification and in 8th place in the women’s one. The trip was led by the “technician with the stars” Antonio CITI (paratrooper of the Italian Army) and by the coach Rico SIMONETTI.
