Lugo, who grew up in Brooklyn and attended Fort Hamilton High School, would have turned 46 today, Tuesday. In his twelve seasons in MLB, he played for the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals, among others.

In 2007, in his first year with the team, he won the MLB World Series with the legendary Boston Red Sox. In 2009, he was transferred to the Cardinals during the baseball season and that year scored .280 hits in 88 games for the two teams.

However, Julio Lugo first started his career in Houston. The Astros voted him in the 43rd round of the draft in 1994. At the time, Lugo was still active at Connors State College in Oklahoma. He finally made his MLB debut in 2000, when he was able to convince as a rookie in 116 games. Julio Lugo also played for the Rays and the Dodgers before joining the Red Sox. He ended his career with the Braves in 2011.
