Judo selection from Tamaulipas stand out in Pan-American

Tamaulipecos judokas stand out in the Pan American and Caribbean Open in the Dominican Republic.

Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas- The Tamaulipas Judo Team that participated in the Pan American Championship and International Open that took place in the Dominican Republic, had a brilliant performance with a total of seven medals.

Frida Maya from Tampico was confirmed as the absolute champion of the Pan American Championship and the Open after obtaining a gold medal in each of the competitions in the U-15 category in the -53 kilograms division.

Judo-Tamaulipas

From Ciudad Victoria, Sebastián Pérez (U-15) managed to hang the bronze and silver medals at the Pan American and Caribbean Open, respectively. While from the southern zone, from Tampico, Alberto Zamora (U-13) was able to win a bronze medal in both competitions.

With regard to other judocas like Víctor Calzada and Kevin Lara, they were among the first five places of more than 15 competitors; Rafael García also achieved a good performance although he did not reach a medal.

All these athletes were accompanied by the coach and President of the Tamaulipas Judo Association, Cecilia Martínez, who as usual was on the lookout for all the athletes.
