The longest winning streak in league history came to an end on Saturday. In the final, the Lower Austrians were defeated by Multikraft Wels 6: 8. For the Upper Austrians it is the first championship title in 44 years.
Welser start furiously
First of all, the two finalists celebrated clear victories in the first round of the Final Four in the Gmunder Volksbankarena. The Tigers eliminated Pinzgau 11: 3. Wels defeated Sanjindo 10-4. The final battle began with a Waza-Ari victory for Tornike Tsjkadoea. It was to remain the Tigers’ sole leadership.
