Judo – Leonardo Copat is Italian champion

November 13th and 14th was another weekend of great results and emotions for him Skorpion club Libertas Pordenone.

In fact, on Saturday and Sunday, the Italian Judo Championships (Beginners category) took place at the Pala Pellicone in Ostia: Saturday was the turn of the males with the skorpioncini Leonardo, Tommaso, Pietro and Lorenzo in the race; Sunday was the turn of the females with Rachele, the only girl on the Roman expedition.

Leonardo Copat became the Italian champion in the -81 kg category, dominating with absolute supremacy of tactics and technique the five fights he won, all of them abundantly ahead of time.

In July he had already become national champion of his category in the Tricolor recovery race which, due to Covid-19, had not been staged in 2020; Saturday sealed the summer success in the best possible way.

Rachele Moruzzi, on the other hand, climbed to the second step of the podium, after three matches won with absolute merit, losing only the final with the opponent who had also excelled in July.

Tommaso Gini, in his first year as a rookie B, was ranked fifth: his was also a beautiful performance, which helped to position Skorpion in sixth place in the national ranking of the more than 130 companies present.

Pietro Mason and Lorenzo Bardella, also in their first year as rookies B, were unable to go beyond the first meeting, but the experience gained will certainly be useful for the future.

Great results that do not happen by chance: planning, work, perseverance and determination are the foundations that the Skorpion club Libertas Pordenone has managed, once again, to put to good use.

The technical organization, directed by the vice president Luca Copat, assisted by Daniele Blancuzzi, is aimed at distinguishing the courses for their own purposes. In this way, distinct paths have been created between agonists, who have decided to take the path of competitions and those who love to practice judo without competing. This last course is directed by Roberto Feletto, who is also responsible for the younger groups from four to eleven years old.

The Skorpion has always operated looking ahead. From its founders (nearly fifty years ago) to its current leadership, the company’s prosperity has always been the beacon that pointed the way. It thus becomes essential to work with a planning that looks to the past, evaluates the present and imagines the future.
