The hawk-eye incident that happened to the Indonesian pair, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo during the match against Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi (Malaysia), at the Bali International Convention Center, Bali, Saturday (20/11/2021).

Controversy colored the semifinal match of the Indonesia Masters 2021, between Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Ong Yew Sin / Teo Ee Yi (Malaysia).

The incident occurred at the end of the first game of the match which was held at the Bali International Convention Center, Bali, Saturday (20/11/2021).

The linesman declared the serve out Ong out so as to maintain the hope of Marcus / Kevin who were trailing at game points 18-20.

When the umpire was about to change the score to 19-20, the Malaysian pair asked for the challenge to review.

Hawkeye, a technology that visually measures the drop position of the shuttle, shows that about half the shuttle’s diameter is on the line of field.

The points also changed hands to Ong / Teo as well as closing the opening game with a score of 18-21 for the advantage of the neighboring country pair.
