Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon have a superior record against Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi. But the Minions don’t consider it a guarantee.

Kevin/Marcus sealed a ticket to the 2021 Indonesia Masters final after defeating the Malaysian pair, Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi, in the semifinals on Saturday (20/11/2021) afternoon WITA. The world number one men’s doubles won three sets 18-21, 21-17 and 21-11.

Kevin/Marcus will be challenged by representatives of Japan, Hoki/Kobayashi, in the final of the Indonesia Masters 2021, Sunday (21/11) tomorrow. The world number 11 pair previously eliminated Malaysian doubles, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, with a score of 21-18, 19-21, and 21-17.

The final of the Indonesia Masters 2021 will be the 11th duel between Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi. The two have seen each other since 2015.

So far, Indonesia’s men’s doubles are very dominant because they have won all of the last 10 meetings. From that total meeting, Kevin/Marcus only lost four games.

However, Kevin/Marcus were on high alert because they had not seen Hoki/Kobayashi for a long time. Their last meeting was in September 2019 at the China Open, where Kevin/Marcus won 21-17 and 21-15.

“They are playing really well, recently the changes have also changed after COVID the game is very different, in my opinion,” said Marcus Fernaldi Gideon after confirming qualification for the 2021 Indonesia Masters final, Saturday (20/11) night WITA.

“Indeed, the increase is a lot. But yes we have to stay do my best and yes, tetep enjoy don’t,” he added.
