ARNHEM – The organizations of various Gelderland events are disappointed or have already put an end to their event due to the latest corona measures. For example, the hardstyle dance party Qlimax in GelreDome, planned on Saturday 20 November, will not take place.

“Our worst nightmare has come true. What should have been the most memorable edition in Qlimax’s history turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments we’ve ever experienced,” said the Qlimax organization on Facebook. The party was canceled in 2020.

The event should have attracted approximately 20,000 visitors to Arnhem. People with a ticket will receive a message from the organization within two weeks.

Vitesse: ‘Disappointed’

Vitesse will no longer be able to receive visitors at matches for the next three weeks. The club says that “the significant increase in the number of corona infections makes it logical that new measures have been taken”. But Vitesse also speaks of disappointment and frustration since there are “no demonstrable sources of contamination from the stadiums in professional football”.

Huntenpop not in the evening, but in the afternoon

Festival Huntenpop announces that the Tribute Night on Saturday will be moved from the evening to the afternoon. John Haverdil: “We’ve brought it forward. The party is now from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM so we can finish the party before the new rules go into effect.” This decision has already been pre-sorted in recent days. All bands and staff had already been asked to come in the afternoon. The Huntenpop family day on Sunday is cancelled. Following the organization is impossible to organize according to the new corona rules.

According to the organization of the festival in Ulft, this will cost a lot of money, although it is not yet clear how big the damage will be. Haverdil: “A three-day party costs about a ton, so do the math.”

Seven Hills Run

The organization of the Zevenheuvelenloop near Nijmegen, which is scheduled for Sunday 21 November, has announced that it is not yet able to give a definitive answer about whether or not the event will take place. “That depends on what the municipality and the security region decide,” says director Alexander Vandevelde. “We can still take measures ourselves, for example walking without an audience.”
