With these two points, those of Jacobo Cuétara consolidate their second position in the Asobal League standings.

Bidasoa Irun won 28-34 in their visit to Fraikin Granollers, who was one point behind and threatened the second place for the Irundarras. With the two points, that second place is firmer, with three income against Granollers (with one game less), and five and six against Logroño and Puente Genil, who have not yet played their game this weekend.

Except for 2-1 and 5-3, Bidasoa Irun has always been ahead on the scoreboard. A great Rodrigo Salinas (eight goals in the first half) and Sierra (eight saves, two penalties) have pulled the yellow team, which has been five up at 11-16. At the break it has arrived with 14-18.

In the resumption the Vallesano team has pressed and has approached a goal in the 19-20. Cuétara’s time-out has served as a shock and the yellows have escaped again, 22-27. In this section Zabala has shone, five goals in ten minutes, and once again Sierra, who has stopped four counterattacks and finished with 18 interventions, three from penalties.

The top scorer has been Rodrigo Salinas, with nine goals, followed by Zabala, with six.

On Tuesday the Irundarras will host Toulouse in Artaleku, on the third day of the European League.
