With a total of 95 participating clubs and 988 registered athletes, the 18th judo tournament in the city of Gérardmer organized this weekend was a great success, with participation down very slightly compared to previous editions. The snow and the bad traffic conditions on the Vosges roads certainly have something to do with it.

Back this year after the cancellation of the 2020 edition, the 18th Gérardmer judo tournament hosted the best prospects in regional judo at the Sports Hall this weekend. The youngest and the youngest faced each other on Saturday morning, before giving way to the older ones in the afternoon for the cadets, juniors, seniors and veterans tournaments. Sunday morning it was the turn of the youngest with the chicks tournament in the morning, before the youngest engaged in mini-chicks and baby judo meet in the afternoon on the tatami mats of the Perle des Vosges.

The president of the Gerom club, Mikaël Bussière, the sports educators, the team of volunteers and the referees struggled throughout the weekend to ensure the sporting part and the convivial side of this event, which brought together a little less ‘a thousand young and old judokas from all over the Grand-Est. The public, who had also responded, largely contributed to the success of this beautiful sporting event, perfectly orchestrated by the Judo Club of Gérardmer. The appointment is already set for next year.
