The 30th edition of the Buenos Aires Games came to an end and more than 10,000 athletes and artists from all over the province enjoyed the finals that took place in Mar del Plata.
La Matanza was represented by different institutions, and by the teams and athletes of the municipality, and counted 33 medals in sports: nine gold, eleven silver and thirteen bronze, adding to the six achieved in the artistic categories.
In this way, the District added 39 medals in total; eleven gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze, placing in sixth position in the general table.
The nine gold medals were obtained by Nicolás Dos Santos (golf sub 13), Dylan Benítez (judo sub 15), Thiago Sequeira Ditzel and Manuel González (table tennis sub 14 and sub 18), Thomas Gainza (athletics, 80 meters sub 14), Sandra Novak (university tennis), Iñaki Sainz (sub 16 tennis), 3×3 basketball sub 16 and soccer 11 sub 16.
The silver medals were hung by Sofía Spano (athletics, triple jump sub 16), Katherina Maldonado (athletics, long jump sub 18), Fernanda Balverde (university aquathlon), Ileana Gianetti (athletics, shot put), Cristian Ramírez ( university swimming, 200 freestyle), Axel Asat (athletics, discus throw), Ignacio Mariño (university table tennis), Rocío Díaz (university skateboarding), women’s 11 under 18 soccer, men’s under 18 volleyball and men’s under 14 beach soccer .
While the bronze awards were achieved by Axel Navarrete (artistic gymnastics sub 12 level 4), Julieta González (athletics, 800 meters sub 16), Luz Córdoba and Rosa Conte (beach volleyball sub 18), Brisa Castillo, Santiago Godoy and Abril Salvetti (athletics, sub 16 and sub 14 javelin throw), Ludmila Figueroa (athletics, long jump), Gustavo Villca (college tennis), Nahiara Erba (athletics, sub 16 discus throw), Celeste Martínez and Almendra Veiga Ramírez (beach university volleyball), football 5 sub 14, 3×3 basketball sub 18 and volleyball sub 18.
